Yes! At Wolf Spirit Deck, we have a close partnership with TimberTech and Deckorators. This allows us to offer 20–25-year fade and stain warranties, along with 10-year labor warranties on all our deck projects.

It really depends on what we find when we get there! Usually, resurfacing your deck is the more budget-friendly way to go, but we have to make sure the “bones” of your structure are still solid and safe first. We’ll take a close look at your current setup to figure out if a refresh is all you need or if a full replacement is the smarter, safer move for the long haul.

The timeline for resurfacing a deck can vary a bit, but usually, we’re looking at about 3 to 5 days to get the job done. It really comes down to the size of your space and any specific details your project needs to be perfect. Our goal is to work as efficiently as possible so you can get back to enjoying your yard, without ever cutting corners on the quality you expect from us.

While different brands might have their own specific guarantees, you can generally count on your composite deck staying sturdy and looking sharp for decades without the typical wear and tear of wood.

We definitely recommend giving your deck a little love at least once a year. Our Naperville team suggests a quick annual “check-up” that includes a good cleaning and a thorough walkthrough to make sure every board and railing is still solid and safe. It’s the best way to catch any small issues early and ensure your outdoor space is 100% ready for another season of BBQs and relaxing.

Timing is everything when it comes to waterproofing your new wood deck. You really want to give the wood enough time to “breathe” and cure properly before you lock everything in with a sealant. Think of it like letting paint dry before adding a second coat—if you rush it, the sealant won’t soak in like it should.

Depending on when we finish your build, here is a quick rule of thumb for your wait time:

• Spring builds: Wait 2–4 months.
• Summer builds: Wait 1–2 months (the heat speeds things up!).
• Fall builds: Wait 4–6 months.

Once that curing time is up, applying a high-quality sealant is basically like putting sunscreen on your deck—it’s the best way to protect it from moisture and keep it looking great for years to come.

Definitely! Think of it like prepping a canvas before you start painting—the better the surface, the better the final result. If you’re working with bare wood, a thorough pressure washing is a must to get rid of all that hidden dirt and grime. If your deck already has a coat of paint on it, you’ll likely need to strip that old layer off first. This makes sure your new coating actually sticks and stays looking flawless for years to come instead of peeling away.

It all comes down to the kind of “shield” you’re using! If your sealant has paraffin wax in it, you’ll see those satisfying water beads, but that effect usually fades pretty fast. On the flip side, the oil-based sealants we often use are designed to soak deep into the wood fibers for long-term protection rather than just sitting on the surface. So, even if you don’t see those visible water droplets, your deck is still staying bone-dry and protected on the inside where it counts the most.
